049 – The Botanist

Everyone is welcome in the great berth of the Wharf Town, and that includes the Awoken – the living machine, the robots that found their Spark to be free of their programming. Despite their freedom, they are unique labor force, as they often possess specific build, tools, and vast knowledge in particular skill engraved in their memories in form of programming that now they can utilize at will. With that in mind, they are coveted by many communities, even with some antipathies remaining for the machine life amongst some less enlightened and narrow-minded folks. Nonetheless, mayor Whale is way above such trifle and nonsensical issues and all he worries for is the wellbeing and development of the city, and therefore he is more than happy to welcome specialized employees into the workforce. Now living robots permeate every class and aspect of the Wharf Town rich society, from street performers to lawyers, from cooks to policing force. The latest addition, by many considered decadent, was G.R.O-17, simply known as the Botanist, who work tirelessly to incorporate greenery into the growing city landscape, keeping parks and a little oasis of nature amongst the growing industry. While that is the most visible of his efforts, the project that the politicians of the city look carefully into is the oversight of the farming outside the city borders to ensure self-sufficiency for the city in the future.
