Today I saw a YT clip on Proko from Robot Pencil and it was quite inspiring. The speed and quality was astonishing, and I decided to embark on this practice myself, starting today. An hour a day of drawing, 10 minutes for each doodle. 10 minutes is a lot, and I hope to reduce it to 5 once I feel more comfortable at it, because right now I just want to make it my warm-up as much as a tool to get more comfy at digital painting. Out of this six I only somewhat like two of them, but it’s a start! What was the hardest bit? First minute of each. Coming up with a fun, interesting shape, a good silhouette. I really need to practice that bit much, much more fiercely.
I am trying to actively squeeze that hour of working on these boys per day without skimping on my other drawing and painting, but with a regular 8 hours per day job it is challenging. Still love this practice and it’s both fun and makes me feel like I an getting somewhere with it.
