Mulifanua, the sunken city, the sunken treasure of the ancient people of Lapita. These skilled sailors, navigators and fishermen still did not stood the anger of the endless ocean and the shifting cruelties of time. Tidal waves send upon them by the fickle gods to test their mettle over and over again turned grander in spectacle and in dreadful danger they posed to the masters of the sea… And one faithful time the storms and rains and waves cast by the uncaring pantheon overtook the beautiful cities and villages of the seafolk and pushed them to the murky depths. Some says that the souls of the brave wanderers of the blue fields survived, as the gods saw the error of their tests and – unwilling to admit to a mistake – did not undo the destruction, but gave the lost souls new life and meanings. To still wander the seas, to still explore and thrive in their new forms, in their new secluded communities hidden from the eyes of the mere mortals by the deep darkness of the sea bottom…
