Blue Bird

Whoa. Whoa. Okay, calm down. This is something completely different from my usual fare of monsters, beasts and dark, brooding stuff. But that is pretty much exactly the point. Drawing eldritch creature is my comfort zone, and to grow, develop and become stronger (both as an artist and saiyan warrior) you need to always challenge yourself. This was my challenge. Cute, colorful, cartoony and cheerful stuff is NOT my forte. In fact, I suck at it big time, mostly due do avoiding it like the plague, which is funny, considering that I love cartoons. And so, I decided to embark on a journey to learn this softer style and with a monstrous help too.

And the biggest help was a tutorial from Dan Gartman Youtube Channel. He is an amazing artist that have this style polished down to a science and he does amazing work with it too. And his tutorials are fast, entertaning and still informative enough for those who watch it vigilantly to pick up some techniques and apply them. This illustration above
