Mayor Whale will surely be a figure prominently talked about, and in great detail, in the future history books. There is no denying that he has a vision and charisma – it is on his shoulders and his laws that the Wharf Town is not just a town anymore, but a sprawling city, most likely the biggest on all of Posterra, sprawling, ever-growing and thriving. He is well known for his despotic rule, and yet he calls himself a public servant and indeed, all his laws and executions of them are always benefitting the city and its growth. Such a figure will always have enemies, and in the politics of the most vibrant and eclectic place of ascending civilization, they would be manifold with their own agendas and ploys. While Mayor Whale is hardly meek and defenceless, he employs a fantastic figure as his bodyguard – the now well infamous Hugh Mungus, one of the rare Fungal Golems from the depths of the Living Bogs. Usually the serve their gods and never leave the bosom of the swamps that spawned them, but somehow Hugh Mungus managed to wrench free of its creator and was found by Mayor Whale, who employed him to be his bodyguard. Unquestioningly loyal, brutal and extraordinary powerful, this titan of fibrous muscle and impossible endurance proven to be an unstoppable force in combat and the mayor staunch defender in many attacks and attempts at his life.
