INKTOBER '20 #16 - Rocket

As you can imagie, such an eclectic city as Wharf Town can’t only be filled to the brim with a cornucopia of cultures, but all that comes with them as well. Be it ancient grudges, strange lore, curious magicks and outlandish technology. But the most blackpowder barrel issue is always the matter of faith. Fortunately – and displaying great insight – Mayor Whale made the law on the case of religion and cults extremely simple and hard to misinterpret. Every kin and folk is allowed to engage in any religious activity of any faith, have their temples and shrines and their holidays as long as any of the above do not impend the work of the city and do not affect in any way any other kin and folk who are not participating. This of course didn’t stop the religious tensions or constant attempts and proselytizing, but it kept the peace well enough – and when a priest or a local zealot tries to get a bit too riled up, a swift and explanatory visit from the City Guard can stem their enthusiasm. Nonetheless, some cults are still dangerous by their very nature, and despite being allowed, they are kept under constant scrutiny. Disciples of Dreadwake, of course, preaching the coming of madness as the solution to all of Posterra problems. The One Church with their songs of agony, narcotic blood drugs and eldritch creatures. And Cult of Ordnance, which consider all weapons and means of technological destruction holy and acts of violence with these to be a proper display of faith. While this faith is relatively rare in the town, due to uniqueness of the weapons and scarcity of old age munitions, the many hired goons, thugs, mercenaries and gangers from the countless warclans of the Droughts tend to universally sign up to the church of guns, bullets and explosives.
