The cities of the Hive are plagued by many threats despite the high degree of their industrial progress and civil growth. The Dreadwake of course always remain that insidious threat that seeps even to the darkest, deepest system of tunnels, but when external threats can be dealt with, it was the threats from within that turned the bug citizens guts inside out - literally. Most insectoids want to join the Hive, to become elevated, find peace and prosperity in the growing Underempire. It is possibly the most dynamic and advanced civilization on Posterra as for the moment, far removed from the manifold plights of the surface dwellers. But there will always be dissidents - in their case, there are some species of sentient bugs that just don’t want to play alone, and the nastiest and most cruel of them are the Parasitoid Wasps which reproductive cycle doesn’t really make them too social with their prey-mates. As they paralyze their chosen prey, they then drug them to their terrible sex-dungeons when they have their disgusting ways, laying eggs within the host-playmate and releasing them to their life, altering their brain biochemistry to forget the incidents. Later down their life it is not needed, as the growing larva will control their minds to certain degree as their gorge themselves on their hosts meat and organs. Such is the way of things.
