They were made to withstand so much. Made in the Tear Starbase laboratories from the Posterran insect, they were grown over many iterations to become the perfect, amiable serviles for the researchers and the explorers. Beyond hardy, the Chodarians could resist extreme heat and cold, possess a devilishly tough outer carapace layers and are impossibly strong thanks to the intense density of their muscles. One could ask – isn’t this a disaster in the making? Creating a powerful, tough to kill slaves? Sure, it would be, if not for two simple yet effective countermeasures – they are treated extremely well, which paired with their low intelligence and short memories, create a very loyal being, eager to obey and enthusiastic about satisfying their makers. And of course, they are utterly dependent on the special, superbly nutrient-dense sludge that is their main source of food, build in via specialised intake, as they were designed to possess no mouths or other apparatus to speak, bite or chew. Together these two features make them a trusty and popular servant to the many xenos races that utilize the Tear for their research and probes into the mysterious globe, riven with anomalies.
