There are many beasts across the vast wilder realms of Posterra, which should not be a nouvelle idea to anyone – the world is a dangerous place to every of its inhabitants and powerful predators emerged accordingly to make sure it is even more so for poor living things that need to find new ways to scurry away in a hurry. Some creatures are however more insidious, as evolution long ago ceased to be a slow, tedious, natural thing. Now, fuelled with forgotten xenotech, dormant yet unruly thaumic energy and of course that ever-present threat of Dreadwake pollution, life grows in tricky ways, finding more and more precise niches to operate. Folksnappers are aptly named, as these bulky, musclebound predators decided that it likes sapient creatures the most – a peculiar choice, since most kin and folk tribes make for a rather tough prey. Sure, one on one most would stand little chance against such beast, but the threat of the people lays in their intelligence, in tools they use, traps they make and the fact they often fight in organized groups! And yet, the Folksnapper still will only hunt the tribes, hamlets and towns, often prowling just outside the walls, moats or barricades, hunting for lonely folks, for the bold and the stupid, learning new ways to lure its prey. With traps of its own, although simple, or by learning how to imitate sounds of other animals, it is trying its best to outsmart its chosen prey. It doesn’t need much – a simple lapse in judgment, a misstep is all it needs for its superior speed, dexterity and strength to ensure a successful hunt.
